Vance Outdoors Training Defensive Handgun: Basics

This is the first level of training in the Vance Outdoors Defensive Handgun Series. This series is designed to help you become a well-rounded and well-trained armed citizen.

Basic Defensive Handgun concentrates on the foundational skills to be able to operate a handgun, such as drawing from the holster, reloading, and multiple targets. Important fundamentals like grip, sight picture/sight alignment, and trigger management will be emphasized. The class will also have a brief discussion on the moral, ethical, and legal use of force for inside the home as well as on the street.

For this class you will need a reliable pistol, strong side holster, magazine carrier, spare magazines (we recommend at least 3), sturdy belt, eye and ear protection, and 350 rounds of ammunition.
