(5 out of 5) A much better value than the price suggests

I wish I would have discovered this gem earlier. This rifle is a real sleeper in the 22lr bolt action category. First of all the bluing is like what one would see on a Sako`;` Deep black gloss. The machining and fit of the bolt, the magazine, and the trigger group are all beautiful. It's very easy to get sub 1/2 groups at 50 yards with CCI Standard Velocity shooting from an improvised rest using a good 3-9x40 hunting scope.
I've yet to see any cold or clean bore fliers with the 8301 which to me is very important. Pests or game don't stick around for a second shot. The stock is very functional and the high comb piece fits me great when using the 40mm objective scope with Weaver Quad locks on the Weaver #12 bases not included. Note: my Stryra scope is a side focus so the objective is smaller than similar 40mm AO front ring scopes.
Vance's in Columbus was very helpful allowing me to use my bore scope prior to purchase. They must have felt they had nothing to hide and they didn't. I've been passing on CZ 455s and 457s due to the poor quality of the guns, most notably the bores. So, off I head to the range to clean the clocks of the CZ owners with my lowly little Ruger!
