This G43 FDE is my first purchase of a GLOCK handgun on 11/9/2018. I travel 5 states, for business, and stay in hotels 3 to 4 nights a week. I've carried an LCP .380 for a couple of years, thinking that is probably all I really need. Recently, I had an incident at a hotel, where two dope-heads attempted to rob me. After that, I decided that it's time to get a more substantial, and reliable concealed carry pistol. After reading more reviews and comparisons than I can tell you, I decided to check out a G43. I went to Vance's Obetz store, and got great service, and information, from Mike Y.,at the Firearms Counter. I had Mike also install Ameri-Glo Spartan Tactical sights P/N GL-386. This is a great setup! I took it to Vance's range the next day. I'm totally impressed, and a lot more confident with this pistol. Very accurate, right out of the box. The grip is really comfortable, and the Ameri-Glo sights made acquisition and quick follow-up shots much easier since I'm far-sighted. My only downfalls to this pistol are, 6+1. I would prefer 7+1, as many online and magazine reviews have stated. The flush magazine leaves the pinky finger with nowhere to go, except tucking it under the magazine. But, it does eliminate the print when carrying concealed where, with the extended magazine, there is a more obvious print. Although, the extended magazine provides for a better, fuller grip. Recoil is not an issue with this pistol. It's very manageable and, after putting 100 rounds through it, I didn't go home with red hands, or the sting that some pistols can leave. I purchased a DeSantis Insider IWB holster, also. The pistol is very comfortable to carry with this holster. I barely notice it being there, and the Insider holds this slim pistol close to the body, easy to reach, and not noticeable by sight. Overall, for my first GLOCK purchase, the sights, and holster, I'm very happy, and impressed. I feel a lot more confident with this concealed carry combo. I've already started looking at GLOCKs website, and Vance's website, to find my next, and in the very near future, GLOCK purchase. Thanks, Vance's, and Mike Y. Vance's is the best place to deal with, for firearms, and all of my outdoor equipment!
